Dropping this artwork of Emily and Wendell from Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries by @heather_fawcett !(the cool mechanical pencil is BACK!)

I had such a pleasant time reading the wrap-up to this trilogy in Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales. I love the transition of Emily dipping her toe into Faerie from the real world in Book #1, having a foot in both worlds in Book #2, and keeping a toe in the real world while in Faerie in Book #3. It created new backdrops and stakes through her journaling journey, with Book #3 being the stakiest stakes of the three!

Absolutely love these two DOLTS (Wendell's words, not mine), the best grumpy-sunshine couple since Howl and Sophie. So sad to see them go, but this trilogy seems so easy to pick up and reread again!

I want to thank @delreybooks for providing me both an arc and a hard copy of Compendium; I hope to do another papercraft standee featuring the whole trilogy set soon!

This is not only affecting banana bread and laundry tip blogs, but any person who is a content creator and makes revenue off of their hard work.

It's been a while since I've been on IG, because my phone screen broke and I can't log into IG on the temporary phone I've been using. (All this after I paid Meta's Verfication in order to chat with Meta support to restore the 2FA access, waiting for that sticky blue badge to go away in a few weeks). My replacement screen is arriving today, so hopefully back in action tomorrow.

But It's frustrating, because there are some really important posts I want to share in my stories, which I can't do on desktop. Please check out @misterkristoff and @amiekaufmanauthor for their posts regarding LibGen and Meta's AI scraping of author works.

Meanwhile, dropping the papercraft I made for the latest @Illumicrate mug collaboration! Featuring Shae, Lan and Hilo from Jade City by @fonda.lee ! I've had these books in my audio library for the longest time, but I've been struggling starting trilogies+ (opting for stand alones and duologies) - so this mug jumpstarted my journey into the Green Bone Saga! The world building is so fantastic, and I'm eager to continue the next two books. I vividly remember trying to get a grasp on the character's personalities. Hilo specifically came across as rugged and ruthless, but made me do a 180 in an early scene when he bookmarked and set aside the open book being held by a sleeping Wen. That consideration to bookmark the book made me SWOON. That small gesture said SO MUCH for their first scene together. So good.

This papercraft has such a weird deja vu for me, because I was helping my grandfather recover from shoulder replacement surgery at the time. I had packed up my office (paper, craft materials, frame and camera/lights) to head down to South Florida and awkwardly build the papercraft in a foreign setting. Looking at this papercraft will always remind me of shoulder swing exercises and Alexa shouting at us to administer Tylenol.

Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for February! Featuring Thomas and Audrey Rose from the Stalking Jack the Ripper series by @kerrimaniscalco , sneaking around in the underground tunnels of their academy in Romania. (during the series' second book, Hunting Prince Dracula)

When I briefly revisited these scenes for the prompt, I had completely forgot it was an absolute ping pong match of flirting between these two, and this little stunt Thomas pulled at the last second by squeezing past Audrey Rose, in an attempt to distract her from her hesitations of their impending discovery, was the capstone. 😗👌 How scandalous!

This prompt was largely favored due to the recent news of the Jack the Ripper case having possibly found a DNA match! I've consumed so many forms of media that had used Jack the Ripper as their mystery villain (including this series) and now that their is a real name attached, it feels like an entirely different character now. What are your thoughts?

On a side note, I've been absent from IG for the past several weeks. Have had my head down attempting to finish a few large projects (some of which I turned in!) Hoping to be more active here in the upcoming weeks! Hope everyone is doing well!

I noted in my last post that my Patreon members have been a bit kiss-crazy with these requests (not complaining, just noting!) And they were very sneaky with this one, requesting the 'River Rescue' scene! 😂 I remember there being a river rescue scene in WTRK, but when I went back to read it as a refresher to prep for this SAW, I completely forgot there was a 'rescue kiss'. I knew exactly what they were looking for. 😂

The book mentions the water is murkier than this (just as it is today), but Inez is having a moment here, so the sun is shining through! Even if a croc is strolling by!

How did you all like WHERE THE LIBRARY HIDES?? 🙌 I loved it so much, it was one of my favorite reads last year. Isabel completely satisfied the craving I was having during The Mummy/Brenaissance in 2023 with this series. Super excited for you to see the new art in the @fairyloot edition!

Heyyy everyone! Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for the month of December! Featuring Celia and Marco from The Night Circus @erinmorgenstern!

My Patreon members have been getting a bit kiss-crazy with these SAWs. 😂 For this piece, I wanted to take my time to re-read The Night Circus over the holiday break to prep for this. It's been several years since I listened to it for the first time (back when I designed the Build Me Dreams papercraft) and I was really put off by the audiobook and the story comprehension suffered because of it. I love Jim Dale (who read the US audiobooks for Harry Potter), who has multiple but very distinct voices and accents. I kept getting distracted recognizing and comparing every Night Circus character to their HP counterpart which completely took me out of the story at times. Some of the characters were really goofy sounding, which works well for HP, but not for the ethereal cast of TNC.

I can wholeheartedly say that I much more enjoyed this white-noise re-read of TNC and was able to experience it without all the distractions. There were even several scenes I've pinned that I'm eager to illustrate / papercraft beyond the one chosen for this SAW. Please look forward to those!

This is arguably the most colorful scene in the book (everyone is wearing a bright variety of colors), the ballroom is gold and both Celia and Marco wear a deep green. A stark contrast to the book's signature black, white and red color scheme. I offered my Patreon members a handful of color keys to choose from and the one shown here won the most votes!
